Sophie Furman

I am an illustrator (she/they) who lives and draws in artsy Brooklyn, and whose heart belongs to everything inclusive and magical and social justice. Growing up as an immigrant and food-insecure, I went on to work for nonprofits and local elementary schools, and now strive to champion marginalized communities everywhere as a queer and disabled creator. I am an active member of SCBWI-NY Metro, Make Art That Sells school, and was an officer in CBIG-NYC. I also won STORYSTORM in 2023! When not drawing and writing up a storm, I am walking my very fluffy studio assistant, Cookie. My two small nephews are some of my two favorite people in the world!
