Michelle Hazelwood Hyde

Michelle Hazelwood Hyde is a freelance children's book illustrator from Philadelphia. After graduating from Ringling College of Art & Design she began her career working for The New York Times Company in Florence, Alabama.

Michelle has illustrated 20 children's books. She has enjoyed working with the National Center for Youth Issues, It's A Southern Thing and Schiffer Kids. Her book "A Poem is a Firefly" was awarded the Purple Dragonfly Picture Book Award for 6 year olds and over. .

When Michelle is not sketching and painting, she enjoys reading, exercising and playing with her family. She lives in Homewood Alabama with her husband, two children and two very fuzzy dogs.
