A Page from the Prakruti Book – Process Peek!

Hey, it’s Hema – the one who draws ✨
Here’s a little glimpse into my process for a page I illustrated for the Prakruti Gujarati Vocabulary Book — a project that feels especially close to my heart.
It’s created for Gujarati-speaking families (especially in the US!) looking to reconnect with their roots through language, culture, and storytelling. And for me, that meant filling each page with warmth, detail, and a sense of quiet joy.
This time-lapse condenses about an hour of work into 10 seconds — complete with tiny brushstrokes, zoom-ins, and me vibing to a Bollywood song you can’t hear. 🎶🌿
📚 Project: Gujarati Vocabulary Book
🎨 Tools: Procreate on iPad
💛 Role: Illustrator
I love it when projects allow for cultural storytelling — especially ones where every color and line adds meaning. If you're working on a children’s book or language-learning project and want art that feels handcrafted and thoughtful, I’d love to connect.
Thanks for stopping by 🌸
