Hema Gami
Hey, I’m Hema, the one who draws! I live in Delhi and I’ve been teaching myself art since 2016. I’ve taken all kinds of paths to learn art - Udemy courses, local classes, and mentorships that truly changed the game for me. DrawingForce with Mritunjay Varun helped me understand the basics inside out, and now, I’m lucky to be mentored by Jeremy Vickery, who’s honestly helping me see what I’m really capable of.
My art is a little whimsical, a little raw, always full of heart, and usually sprinkled with some culture. I mostly draw on Photoshop and Procreate, but for me, tools are just tools - skill and emotion are what matter most.
If I weren’t illustrating, I’d probably be writing books for kids full-time - sharing Indian stories, values, and all the tiny things that make our culture rich and magical.
Clients often say that what sets me apart is the connection I build with their stories. I let the project’s energy guide me, make it personal, and go all in. That’s why feedback doesn’t scare me - it excites me. I want to create the wildest, most meaningful version of what’s possible.
When I’m not drawing, you’ll find me in a fierce chess match (daily obsession!), zoning out with a coloring book, or flowing through a quiet yoga session. I usually have spiritual chants playing in the background - they keep me grounded and flowing.
Also, I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and can binge Friends, The Office, or TBBT anytime!
