Melissa Fife

I am a London based illustrator and author. I love to create cute, funny, and playful worlds around human and animal characters. Giving my work a sense of place is important to me and I take inspiration from my international background and travels across the world. Coloured pencil drawing is my main media which I pair with watercolours, inks and mono print and then integrate with digital drawing. 

I am passionate about storytelling through illustrating children's books, maps and travel locations. I enjoy surface pattern and have great fun creating my books' end papers. ​I studied Italian and German literature at Oxford University and then worked in PR before focusing on illustration.
