Twenty-two-year-old Calliope lives with her grandfather, Daniel, in a world that has been turned upside down.

Years earlier, a mysterious pandemic swept across the planet. But instead of killing people, it caused everyone between the ages of sixteen and sixty to fall into a deep, unexplained sleep. They cannot be awakened, and no one knows when—or if—they will ever wake.

With an entire generation suddenly absent, children have grown up without their parents, while people over sixty have become the caretakers of a world they never expected to inherit.

Then something even stranger begins happening.
