For this brief, I was asked to illustrate a narrative sequence featuring two boys, Kai and Otto, aged 12–14. Kai is shy, thoughtful, and intelligent, while Otto is outgoing, sporty, and obsessed with gaming. The story explores the moment their worlds collide - literally. This page reveals the turning point, when Otto is pulled into the game, leaving Kai behind as the adventure truly begins.

In the hush of the living room, the TV casts a blue glow as Otto, alone for a moment, presses start. The game surges to life - pulling him in. Just as Kai returns, he sees Otto vanishing behind the glass. The popcorn slips from Kai’s hands as he rushes forward, trying to grab hold, but it’s too late. Otto sinks into a shimmering oceanic world of kelp and magic, leaving Kai staring at the screen, breathless and stunned. The real game has begun.
