Illustration: National Libraries Day – Dinosaur Discovery

This piece was created in response to National Libraries Day, celebrating the vital role libraries play in nurturing curiosity and imagination in children. The illustration depicts a young girl immersed in books about dinosaurs and the prehistoric era, surrounded by visual clues that reflect her deep fascination with the subject.
The room is filled with playful, era-specific props that reinforce her passion: a brachiosaurus lamp, a dinosaur-themed blanket, a spinosaurus alarm clock, a triceratops pillow, a parasaurolophus t-shirt, and a spoof poster inspired by JAWS, featuring a mosasaurus devouring a shark. Each item was carefully chosen to reflect the joy of self-directed learning and the way libraries empower children to explore their interests in depth.
This piece highlights my ability to build narrative-rich environments, incorporate researched details, and create emotionally resonant illustrations that speak to both children and adults. It was designed to honor the quiet magic of libraries and the worlds they open for young minds
