Traci Bixby

Hello, I’m Traci Bixby, the artist behind Mossy Blue Paper Studio!

Mossy Blue Paper Studio is truly a reflection of my life and my deep love for the Pacific Northwest. The name “Mossy Blue” comes from my favorite places—the lush, moss-covered forests and the wide, blue seas. So many of my adventures, whether hiking through those mossy trees or sailing on those blue seas, have found their way into my watercolor paintings and hand-lettering designs. I love everything about this area, the ever-changing weather (yes, even the rain!), the stunning landscapes, the music scene, and the creative energy of the people here. My time spent camping and boating with friends and family has shaped my art, reminding me how special each moment of adventure is, and I try to capture that in my work.

I began my art career in Seattle at the School of Visual Concepts, back when it was still housed in an old hat factory. I have so many fun memories—like getting stuck in that rickety elevator more times than I’d like to admit! Those days were amazing, and it’s where I truly fell in love with watercolor. Today, every piece I create starts with watercolor, and then I enhance my designs digitally with Procreate and Photoshop.

One of the highlights of my career so far has been winning a Louie Award in 2023 for my greeting card, Sleepytime. That night was such an incredible honor, and it’s a memory I’ll always treasure.

These days, I’m focused on connecting with new clients and collaborating on exciting projects with other creatives and art directors. I love working with people to create something beautiful and meaningful together.
