This was the first of two rather large projects I completed in 2025, "The Adventures of Jinx and Purrlin, a colorable storybook". The book tells the story of two "Cat Wizards" attending a "Cat Wizard School", run by a "Professor Pawlin" and is a tip-of-the-hat, tribute to the Harry Potter series. At least that's my take on the book. Joe Mcfall contacted me in March of last year with the concept, and explained it was to be a 60-page, plus covers, black & white coloring book. Mr. Mcfall did not have a completed manuscript at that time, so I was able to draw the images based soley from written descriptions, provided by Joe. After I spent the next several weeks penciling and inking the 60 plus images, I suggested to Mr. Mcfall that for a few dollars more (per image) I could color all 60 images, so he'd have the option of publishing and offering the book as either a coloring book or a full-color storybook, and he agreed to do so. So, I spent several more weeks coloring each image digitally in PhotoShop layers. This was another client who found me through my Childrensillustartors.com portfolio and the commission more than covered the annual cost of my CI subscription, ten times over. To date, Mr. Mcfall is still reworking his manuscript and the book has gone unpublished thus far, though my contributions were completed and paid for in October of 2025. I'm still hoping the book will be in print sometime soon. Meanwhile, I hope you'll enjoy some sample pages from the book below.
