No Color, All Wonder: the Magic of Black & White

Whether it's a technical constraint or an artistic choice, black and white images are always present in the lives of the illustrators. Some might find the absence of color easier, while for some it presents a challenge. The artist has to rely on line, texture, and contrast alone to bring characters to life.

In any case, there’s something deeply captivating about the simplicity of black and white illustrations. Stripped of color, these drawings speak directly to the imagination — and it’s in that quiet space between ink and paper that true magic happens.

I've had many opportunities to work in black and white throughout my career, and today I want to share some of it with you!
