New Hidden Pictures illustrations for Highlights
Lately I've been having fun hiding various objects in fun scenarios, like a weekend waffle feast for walruses, and a forest of critters excited to receive mail from a snail! Highlights, the beloved and most-read children's magazine in North America, commissioned me for a few of their classic "Hidden Pictures" issues. The brief was to hide a number of objects with specific spelling features; for instance, in "Snail Mail" the objects were to be words with long vowel sound combinations (like ea, ie, ai, etc.) And I couldn't use anything like "leaf" or "snail" as a hidden object, since they are already part of the forest. So it was a fun visual and wordy challenge! Test your eagle eye and see how many hidden items you can find!
