That lizard has a powerful kick! Ian Dale illustrated "Lizzy Has Fantastic Feet," a new children's book by author Antoinette Simmonds. Her publishing imprint, Nana's Bookshelf, seeks to provide simple everyday stories featuring people of color. With this second book, Ian enjoyed designing some imaginative animal characters to interact with the young boys at the center of the story. 

"Lizzy Has Fantastic Feet" is a fun story about appreciating differences. Caius is having a hard time being heard by his older brothers and sometimes feels left out. Everything changes when he discovers a talking lizard! Lizzy the Lizard is also having a hard time. As the two develop a friendship, Caius discovers that everyone has differences but that our differences can also be our strengths!

"Lizzy Has Fantastic Feet" was published in December 2022 in print and ebook. It is second in a series of books written for children ages 4 and up, featuring an African American family. Ian Dale also illustrated the author's first book "How Old is Grandma?"
