Reviews:
I enjoyed this anti-bullying picturebook from the pen of Harriet Cobb. Colourfully illustrated, it's the story of a horse named Carmine who meets a group of not-very-nice mice. Set in a rich, green pasture in Kentucky, the young reader gets to follow the horse as she finds out why she’s called Carmine and also learns to stand up for herself.
I'm happy to recommend this book to children aged 6 – 8,particularly if they enjoy books filled with animal characters.
I think they’ll enjoy rooting for Carmine and booing the nasty mice!
I also suspect it will go down well with parents and schools looking for anti-bullying books that show how important it is to stand up for yourself.
