Lisa Blakeborough

Hello! I’m Lisa Blakeborough, a children’s illustrator and visual storyteller from Minnesota. I love drawing diverse lovable characters, playful nature-inspired scenes, and moments of connection and kindness.

Ecology, mindfulness, diversity, and kindness are important topics to me and common themes in my illustrations. I especially enjoy collaborating on creative projects that inspire kids and playful adults to connect with the beauty and magic of the natural world. 

I have been drawing my whole life. For the past 15+ years I’ve been lucky enough to work as a professional illustrator and designer. I really enjoy the collaborative process and have had the opportunity to work with many wonderful clients, including: Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Kiss the Ground, Clif Bar, Target, Annie’s Organics, Minnesota DNR, Organic Trade Association, Minneapolis Parks, Background Stories, and Plato Learning. 

I live near Minneapolis, MN with my son where we enjoy exploring our local parks, and making weekly visits to our neighborhood library and farmer’s market.
