Joanna Mlynarczyk

Hi, my name is Joanna. I'm from Poland, but currently I am based in the UK. I have been drawing and painting since I can remember, but my professional work as an illustrator started 15 years ago. I was working back then as a graphic designer, and my current boss asked me to join him in a non-profit project dedicated to children. That is how the Bazgroszyt project began. For a couple of years, I was designing books, colouring books, learning materials and conducting workshops for children. Eventually, our ways split, but friendships with people I have been working with remain. One of them, a part-time poet (nicknamed PanPoeta), showed me his texts. Together, we created a writer and illustrator team, which resulted in publishing ten books for children. That was a long and joyful collaboration but very rewarding.
