C.J Eugenia
Children's Illustrator
Who or what made you want to become an illustrator?
I have always had a love for drawing, I imagine phases of my life as a comic strip, drawing people I meet on the street, friends, my family, my cat. I always carry a sketchbook with me, and I finish it during the holidays. These notebooks are kept in my library like little precious books.

Where do you currently live and where did you grow up?
I studied Design in Milan, Italy and started working for Ithe talian Rai Radio Television after graduation. I still live in Milan, but I grew up in Tuscany where my family lives.

Have you always loved to draw?
I love to illustrate situations and scenes full of characters and details or humorous stories which are very funny. I believe that the secret for an illustrator of children's books is to be able to make people laugh, always be positive and humorous.

What do you hope children take away from your drawings?
I hope they can have a moment of joy, of interesting reading, of humor, a good incentive to draw, browse the illustration, grasp the details and the color.
