Thrilled to announce that Let's Explore Snails: An urban wildlife explorers book won the Spark Award Honour for independently published books of 2024, in the Picture Book category. 

A spokesperson for SCBWI, said, "There were hundreds of entries to choose from, but the judges were especially impressed with Let's Explore Snails. The professionalism and quality of the writing and art is an exceptional example of independent publishing." 

This is wonderfully validating for me, as this book, along with the forthcoming Let's Explore Ducks and Let's Explore Moths, are pure labour-of-love projects for me, with 50p from each sale going to Earthwatch, who have been great to collaborate with. Earthwatch is an environmental organisation dedicated to connecting people with nature, motivating them to protect it, and providing people with the knowledge and tools to make change happen. I love how they help people like me get involved and active – they make it easier to do something to protect nature!
