Gürbüz Publishing, in Türkiye, is a long-time publisher of maps and globes, and is now launching Globe Books – a line of round book/globe hybrids for very young kids to learn about the world! I was commissioned to illustrate one of the first of these, entitled Our Earth, which was unveiled at a recent trade show (see pics). 

With happy, colourful spreads (in a very compositionally challenging bagel-shaped layout!) focusing on different habitats, the solar system and Earth’s place in it, weather, seasons, and conservation, the book has a very cute little globe built right into its centre. Ingenious! I was thrilled to create this fun and educational book/toy combo with the wonderful team at Gürbüz, and would love to take on more non-fiction projects focused on early learning about the world and nature.
