Gira Gira le Stagioni (Round seasons jigsaw puzzle and game)
Turn, turn, turn…. Now that the seasons are changing yet again, and we’re getting out the winter boots and mittens, it’s a treat to revisit this fun assignment from earlier this year, for Headu, Italian producer of educational games and puzzles. The brief was really open and straightforward: create a round puzzle, divided into four quadrants, showing the changing of the seasons in the same spot year round, with the same characters.
What was tricky was that each quadrant is a different shape, so I had to make the scene work compositionally and be recognizably the same scene, in four different wedge shapes. Once I got that worked out, it was super fun to add all the cute little animal characters and details. As is often the case, I provided the file in many many layers so the client could pull out little details for the individual game cards. Not sure how the game component of this works, since the online description is in Italian, which I do not parlare. Looks like fun, though!
