Behind, in front of, next to, between, inside, ouside, above, below, plus some basic colour and number vocabulary. It's not just a pretty picture of a British campsite you know. This type of illustration is regular fare in the introductory stages of language courses, and the written briefs provide a rigourous mental workout for the illustrator. Often there is no consideration of scale in the brief, in this case resulting in the squirrels above the cows, in the tree, behind the ice cream van, at the back of the campsite, next to the field having to be drawn rather too large in order to make sure they can be seen and counted by fairly young students
