Fiona Barden

Born in West Sussex, and now based in Staffordshire on the outskirts of the National Forest, one of Fiona’s favourite pastimes as a child was going to her local library, choosing some picture books and sitting at the colouring table to do some drawings, usually of dolphins, leopards and parrots! It was of no surprise that she later decided to study Graphic Design with Illustration and Animation at university followed by working as a designer within the education sector. 

Inspired by drawing challenges on social media, she dipped her toe into the world of digital illustration and was hooked! Fiona made the leap into establishing her freelance illustration career and has since developed a bold, fun and colourful style with lots of texture. Her past clients include Really Decent Books; Little Hippo Books; Kidsbooks Publishing, Sadlier School and iSeek Creative. If she’s not busy drawing, Fiona can be found wandering amongst the trees or down by the river with her children and two border collies.
