"Disposable People" by Elena Ciolacu
"Disposable People" is my second graphic novel that I wrote and illustrated. Published in two editions (both Romanian and English) and counting 150 fully-coloured pages, it depicts Alzheimer's disease from a first-person point of view, while touching on the themes of fatherly love, family, suffering, faith, and purpose. The story is based on real-life cases of Alzheimer's patients, thoroughly researched by the author before writing the novel, including the case of her own grandfather who was the basis for the main character.
