Elena Ciolacu

Hello!

My name is Elena Ciolacu, I am a Romanian visual artist creating in a variety of art forms. My work varies from illustrations to oil paintings, animated short films and graphic novels, but all throughout this diversity it is my love for storytelling that ties them all together, which is why I like to call myself a "visual storyteller".

My most significant illustration work so far includes three comissioned illustrated children's books and two graphic novels of my own, which I wrote and illustrated - "A Story of Hope for the Bullied" and "Disposable People". These two have brought me the First Prize at the Creative Conscience Awards (2013), the Curator's Choice Award at NOISE Festival (2014) and a Finalist spot in the World Illustration Awards (2016).

My animation work is represented by two shorts which I wrote, directed and animated "Remember Me" , "The Little Hero"  and one which was commissioned to me by another writer "A True Story about Vlad Dracula" and for which I provided the directions, concept art and animation. These films have garnered more than 15 awards and 35 official selections at festivals throughout the world.

I am currently freelancing as an illustrator and animator while on the side I am pursuing my own personal projects.

If you have a project you think I can add value to, please don't hestitate to get in touch.

Thank you for stopping by!
