Alice Wong

Hello, my name is Alice and I was born in Cardiff in 1984. I grew up in a lovely little coastal town, Penarth, just outside Cardiff in South Wales. I still live there today along with my lovely husband, who is also an illustrator, my precious little girl Pearl and my two kitties, Pierre and Baloo. I have always been creative and wanted to draw as long as i can remember and I feel so lucky to be able to design at home in my lovely studio everyday.

If I had to describe my work I would say it was quirky, cute and dreamy. I am a real nature lover and animals are the feature in most of my work. I love to paint animals as they are all so unique with different characters and have an innocence about the. My favourite medium to paint in is watercolour but I really just love to draw with my trusty 0.3mm mechanical pencil! I love to paint on wood and other natural surfaces. I also love to work with ceramics to bring my drawings to life.

I really love yoga and curling up on the sofa with a good film and my two lovely cats or having a fun filled family day with my husband and little girl . When I am working I love nothing more than to listen to a good audiobook, be it a romantic comedy, mystery or thriller. If I wasn’t an illustrator I would definitely love to work with animals. I would love to work in a zoo or travel the world trying to help endangered or sick animals. One of my life goals is to some day visit the Chengdu Panda Sanctuary in China and look after a little baby panda! I hope my creations help bring light and happiness to your world. It is important to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. I really hope you enjoy my work as much as i enjoyed creating it!
