Self-taught and super talented, Olivia Gibbs joins us from her cozy home in Kansas (by way of Spain!). She is an illustrator and surface designer with a passion for nature, travel, and finding the beauty in everyday life. More often than not, you can find Olivia with her sketchbook, reveling in those passions. When asked what she loves about being an artist, Olivia says, “Creating art gives me so much joy and I just love to be able to share that art and hopefully inspire and share that joy with others.”
Olivia’s journey to an art career had a few detours. Like many blossoming artists, she drew constantly; creating illustrations for whimsical, made up stories as a child. Eventually, “reality” set in. She didn’t think art was a viable career option. Believing she would never find a job as an artist, Olivia studied business administration and worked in banking for many years. Simply put: it was not a good fit. Then, her second daughter was born and Olivia was able to stay home to care for her. Having a bit of spare time, she picked up a sketchbook. There was no going back! Olivia’s career as an artist began. These days, instead of crunching numbers, Olivia is capturing wonders… and she’s never been happier.
When not creating, Olivia loves to travel and explore new places and cultures. She also enjoys hiking, baking, dancing and—most important to her—spending time with her loved ones.
Prolific Olivia’s client list includes American Greetings, Oopsy Daisy, Design House Greetings, Orange Circle Studio, Better Day Books, Hallmark, Larkwood Studio, Joyful Lands Craft Co., Jo-Ann Fabric, Galison/Mudpuppy, and many more.
