‘Say Stays Home’, a story about three firsts in one day!
I recently completed a book project (book design and interior illustrations) for a wonderful lady, who wanted to turn a story that her mother wrote in the 1950s, into a children’s book. In the back of the book were pages of her mother’s favorite Bible passages with handwritten notes. Another section featured childhood photos of her family and their farm.
“As the second born, Sarah, Say to her family, never gets to be the first one to do anything. So when it’s big sister Ruth’s first day of school, Say is not happy. And mama is busy, so Say has to spend the day with Father working on the farm, usually a fine way to spend the day, but not this time. But maybe the day will be full of firsts for Say after all!”
It’s a cute homespun story and the project was a joy to work on! :)
