Molly Cranch
Molly Cranch is a children’s picture book illustrator and author, fine artist and educator living in Chicago, Illinois. She received a BFA in painting from Washington University in St. Louis and a K-12 certificate in art education from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In her capacity as a fine artist, she has exhibited her paintings in galleries all across the United States. Past exhibitions include: New Morning Gallery, Five Crows Gallery, The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, and The Autry Museum of The American West. Additionally, she has taught a wide variety of art media to children in public and private schools, art centers and museums.
Molly Cranch is currently focused on illustrating and writing children’s picture books, an endeavor which developed from her experience as an artist and educator. A member of SCBWI, Storyteller Academy, 12 x 12 and various other critique groups and conferences, she is continually developing her craft. Working primarily in digital illustration, her stories and illustrations are whimsical and lyrical. Incorporating both SEL and STEM concepts, her stories and illustrations often include scenes and characters in nature. Her first picture book titled HIDE AND SEEK is scheduled for publication in spring of 2023 with Clavis Publications.
