Comic Page: Short Run Print (Fireborn)

This page is an excerpt from a short-run comic I illustrated about a troubled teen burdened by magical tattoos which were gifted to her from her ancestors that she views more as a curse. As the protector of the world, she struggles with the weight of this legacy. This particular scene unfolds within a dream, revealing how her ancestors once wielded the same power and why it was needed.
This page features a layered composition with six floating panels, three on each side, framing a large central background. The layout guides the viewer through the heroine’s descent into unconsciousness as she is dragged underwater by a sea monster. Each panel captures fragments of her fading awareness, while the central image gives the reader a sense of scale as the creature’s massive tentacles dwarf the heroine and her spear. As she slips into darkness, her magical tattoo begins to glow, hinting that a hidden power may awaken, energize her, and save her from a watery grave. This page showcases my ability to choreograph tension, scale, and visual rhythm within a complex layout.
