Who or what made you want to become an illustrator?
I have always loved two things: painting and nature. I think this is the best way to combine these two passions. I love the magic you can find in a children's picture book, it leads you to a dreamland where everything is possible. I hope to give children some of this magic through my illustrations.
What are some of your favourite subjects to draw?
My favourite subjects are animals. I love drawing them acting like humans, with different moods and different expressions. When I was a child I loved watching Disney cartoons, they still inspired me even now.
Animals feature heavily in children’s books – do you have a pet?
I have an old loved cat. Her name is Fabula and she has been with me for 19 years!
