Did you attend art school or undertake any other formal artistic training?
I’m actually attending art school right now, as a graduate student at Savannah College of Art and Design. I’m studying for a Master’s degree in Illustration.
Do you keep a sketch book?
I keep a ton of sketch books! I think I like collecting notebooks more than anything, so there are sketchbooks all over the house. I love using a dip pen and ink, colored pencils, and I love using watercolors.
Who is your favourite children’s book character and why?
Robert the Rose Horse has long been a favorite character. Illustrated by P. D. Eastman, Robert has an affliction that causes great problems, only to finally become the reason for Robert’s heroism to save the day.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that although I adore the beach and the ocean, I really can’t swim. My dad “taught” me to swim by chucking me in the ocean, and it only served to scare the crap out of me!
