Hello! My name is Cristina, but everybody calls me Crico. I have illustrated several children’s books and games.

I’m a 26 years old illustrator living in Europe, Romania. I enjoy reading, trying new coffee shops, petting my two black cats and playing chess.

My artworks are modern and colorful sprinkled with some magical and whimsical touches. I enjoy drawing children, animals and organic elements, but what’s the most important for me is to convey emotions.

My mantra as a book illustrator is to show more than the text says. A story written for young children can’t be to long and the illustrations need to complement it. So I work along with authors in creating images that complete their vision and bring the book to life.

Five years ago I illustrated my first book, but for the past three years I’ve been doing it full time. I love what I do and what I do loves me back. I’ve been working with wonderful authors from Germany, USA, Australia and Romania and this didn’t stop us to make a great team. What helped us tho was having the same goal: giving value to children through the books. Some of the published books I worked on are Alexander the Brave (by E. J. Rey), How Kunibert the Hedgehog Lost His Fears (by Ildiko Reiser), I wish I was as Brave as Dad (by Stu Shanon), Tiamel (by A. Hulber), Kings and Idols (by Ramona Neagos) and Meet Myrtle the Magical Turtle (by E. J. Rey).

Therefore, if you are looking for a children’s book illustrator it would be my pleasure to team up with a creative and amazing author as you! I truly believe that all the people who write for kids are one of the best ones you could ever find: it takes a big heart to shape little minds.
