Aegian and Ignyus
A children's story idea that I came up with in university that tackles grief, sacrifice and climate change using mythical trolls and a magical little girl who can talk to the ocean trolls. I plan on creating the book at some point and publishing it.

Aegian
This is Aegian, the Ocean Troll that we follow along through the story with. He started as a task to use photos to create texture in a concept piece for a character. I fell in love with him and kept working on the concept.

Maya
Maya is the secondary main character. She was originally from a completely different task which was to use random combinations of words and create a story. I pulled "Waterfall Singing" from the generator and got this magical little girl who somehow controls water. Although she doesn't sing in the story at this point in development, that's where her origins lie.

Ignyus
The brother of Aegian. Ignyus starts off as an Ocean Troll, but through the story he turns into a Magma Troll due to elements of climate change a dramatic story telling plot points.
After having made Aegian, I asked myself how I could create a "bad guy" troll using the same principles that I used when creating the former. Using triangular shapes as opposed to rounded ones, and after finding some lava and ash textures, I finalised what Ignyus look like to be an opposite to Aegian's softness and life giving nature.

W.I.P of Final Conflict
This is an alternate angle sketch of the final conflict between Aegian and Ignyus.

The Final Showdown
This is my final piece for the module at university that earned me a 1st. It culminates all of the prior work and storytelling together into one big picture along with involving Maya's story into it at the same time. This is no longer how it looks in the actual story, but it was how I imagined it in my head in 2019.

3D Aegian
For fun I sculpted Aegian in ZBrush. Here are some beauty shots of the model.
