This project came about after a cousin in her early teens approached me with her artwork for my feedback. At first, I  wondered how lengthy and daunting an email or text would be. So I quickly discarded that approach and took the more practical one, condensing my feedback to tips and doodles based on my growth and experience as an illustrator. Going down memory lane and digging up my old sketchbooks was pretty fun. It provided a challenge to translate specific art techniques, such as stippling or cross-hatching; I had learned the traditional way to use digital tools to communicate the message. My cousin graces the cover with her presence, the redhead, and for the other characters, I was inspired (and drew with their consent)  a few artist friends, with whom I keep in contact to this day.
