Shawn Finley

Shawn Finley is a senior illustrator and designer specializing in picture books, toy design, packaging and character design. Influenced by comic books, animation and pop art, Shawn’s work is often bold and graphic, but sometimes takes on a painterly look as well. He is proud to have worked with IKEA on their Lattjo book series, with DreamWorks Press on their Baby Po, Madagascar, and How to Train Your Dragon picture books, and with Marriott Intl' on numerous ad campaigns. He has developed original characters for Burger King and Shire, and also worked with numerous ad agencies, entertainment licenses, educational publishers and manufacturers.

Shawn earned his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Judson University in 1991, and illustrated his first picture book The Boo Baby Girl Meets the Ghost of Mable's Gable in 1992. Besides illustration, Shawn has also written graphic novels, designed books and food packaging, taught graphic design, and produced numerous paintings, most recently exhibiting at Rotofugi Gallery in Chicago. After living in Chicago for many years, Shawn now works and lives in his home state of Ohio, USA..
