I was recently commissioned to create 48 super Monsters designed to help children with numeracy. What a great job! I love monsters, I love illustrating for children and I'm not so hot on numbers, so any help I could give in that area too was just a bonus.

The client, head of mathematics at a British university had designed a set of cards that taught numeracy WITHOUT numbers. Cool!.

I set to, sketching and creating using my imagination, folk tales, fairy stories, legends and lore and designed 12 different monsters in a variety of habitats making 48 creatures in total.

Along with the branding, logo design, pack design and marketing images the whole project took around 4 months to complete.

Monstats is set to roll out to schools in the forthcoming months.
