Scot RITCHIE
Even more good news about a book I recently illustrated (Let's Go! The Story
of Getting from There to Here, written by Lizann Flatt published by Maple
Tree Press). After making the short list for the Cybil awards- the internet's
first literary awards and being nominated for the Amelia Frances Howard-
Gibbon Illustrator's Award (for the best illustrated Children's book of 2007) I
have learned the Canadian Children's Book Center has chosen this book as
their yearly book giveaway. Each year the CCBC chooses one book to give to
every grade one student across Canada (over half a million books!) It was
pointed out to me by my wonderful publisher that for some kids this is their
very first book so this is a great honour. The official announcement will be
made in the new year.
